100000/10 . Went here for the first time ever while visiting on vacation, and omg it did not disappoint. Wasn’t sure what to expect going in due to the limited menu but I’m telling you it’s worth the try. The way they combine different ingredients and flavors is impressive. I had the Venison and it was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. The staff was very helpful in recommending drinks and dishes based off our likes and preferences. They were also very attentive and extremely personable, Morgan was our waitress and I’m not sure the other girls name but she had blonde hair, they both were amazing. A truly incredible place. I highly recommended the old fashion, and if you like Wine the new moscato they have is really good, but dangerous. And the Venison entree of course was just incredible. Now, for dessert you have to get the smores chocolate mousse. It was so creamy and light and not super rich and chocolate. It was almost like a whipped hoco chocolate that was chilled.

All of the staff made us feel special on our date night and the food and drinks were phenomenal. I had never tried rabbit or goat before and they were delicious. The portion sizes were perfect and I loved their seasonal items and options. I highly recommend this elevated Appalachian restaurant, it's well worth the price.

A must see when in the area. The rabbit was cooked to perfection. Dan, the resident bourbon expert, was attentive and informative. Bourbon tastings occur every Wednesday evening at 6 PM - and the stuff they bring out for tasting is typically top notch. I can't say enough good things about this place. I'll be back, and soon!

After being spoiled with the culinary delights of Charleston, SC dining out in the surrounding areas of my birthplace of Front Royal, VA seems to always fall flat. To say that I was blown away by this small restaurant in Middletown, VA would be a gross understatement. The menu is innovative with surprising twists that pay homage to the local Appalachian roots without sacrificing extraordinary culinary genius. The watermelon salad's combinations of fresh flavors danced around my palate leaving me excited to experience the next course. The Appalachian Egg Rolls elevated all that is wonderful about down home country cooking with an outstanding presentation packed with flavor in every bite. The Arancini was an unexpected magical combination of both flavor and texture and should not be overlooked. For my main course I had the Venison. It was perfection! It was hard for me to imagine that there could be any dessert that could hold it's own with such an extraordinary meal. The featured special dessert was a fennel honey peach with ginger ice cream. All I can tell you is that I am still dreaming about it! Vault and Cellar is one of the best kept secrets in the Shenandoah. I visited this restaurant twice while I was in the area and I can't wait to go back!

Attended the Vault and Cellar, and Muse Wine dinner last night that highlighted women for women's month. It was AMAZING! The food, service, wine and attentiveness of the staff was outstanding! Tried lots of great wines that paired so well with each course. I can't wait to attend the next one! The chef spent time chatting with us about the food and shared lots of her bourbon knowledge. This place is a gem! If you have not visited yet, put it on your list!

We had a great evening at this restaurant! The food was fabulous from the starters to the desserts. The drinks were well crafted and they had many unique offerings in addition to an expansive bourbon menu. Our server, Anthony, was so attentive and kind. The next time we’re in the area, we’ll definitely be back!

Our first time at Vault and Cellar. So glad we stopped on our way to Winchester. The starters (arancini and pork belly) were yummy. Duck entree was nicely done, as was the venison tenderloin. Cocktails were wonderful. If we were staying in town, certainly would have done a bourbon flight or more.
